Power of the Pink Day! May 8th at Busch Stadium
Every survivor has a story.
Do you have a friend or family member whose battle with breast cancer could be an inspiration to women everywhere? Do you know someone that has overcome the odds and feel their story needs to be told? Has someone inspired you to be a stronger woman?
Power of the Pink is asking our friends to tell us their Survivor Story. Share your stories of strength. Share your stories of perseverance. Share your stories of survival.
Tell us how someone you know that was diagnosed with breast cancer has lifted your spirits. We’ll select one Survivor Story to represent Power of the Pink at the St. Louis Cardinals Mother’s Day game on Sunday, May 8th at Busch Stadium.
One breast cancer survivor will receive: - 4 tickets to the May 8th St. Louis Cardinals game at Busch Stadium - The chance to throw out a ceremonial First Pitch - The opportunity to tell their story, in their own words, in an upcoming Power of the Pink blog
This Mother’s Day, Power of the Pink and the St. Louis Cardinals are teaming up in the fight against breast cancer by making the Sunday, May 8th game “Power of the Pink Day” at Busch Stadium. We’ll celebrate the women we love by raising awareness for breast cancer and honoring breast cancer survivors before the game by offering one person the opportunity to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Power of the Pink will also present a check to the Susan G. Komen Missouri Affiliate Executive Director Helen Chestnut in the amount of $10,916 before the start of the game. This is the 7th year that Power of the Pink has made a donation to the local Komen affiliate, bringing their total donation amount to $123,732. Power of the Pink has donated over $589,280 to 28 Komen affiliates across the country since 2010.
“The St. Louis Cardinals have been very active in multiple cancer awareness and prevention campaigns over the years, we are proud to be a part of Power of the Pink Day at the ballpark, where our team can shed a pink light on the local community in the fight against breast cancer” said Dan Farrell, Sr. Vice President Sales and Marketing for the St. Louis Cardinals.
